Price for bioconversion of renewable raw materials

Dr. Lukas Reisky is the first awardee of the prize for bioconversion of renewable raw materials. Mr. Reisky received the award in recognition of his outstanding achievements in the elucidation of highly complex degradation pathways of marine algae polysaccharides by bacterial enzymes. His research results form a highly innovative basis for using this previously under-developed carbohydrate resource as a renewable raw material for a wide range of applications in biotechnology and chemistry.
